The first reading today speaks of wealthy merchants taking advantage of the poor. Does that sound familiar? Even today, thousands of years later, the poor are often preyed on by others.
The world is an imperfect place. In our role as Christians, we strive to not be the ones taking advantage of others. But that is not enough. We must also be advocates for those who cannot get out of their situations on their own. God is on the side of the poor, the weak, and the feeble. That should be our side, too.
This is a never-ending work in progress. For each injustice we right, three more will be in line to take its place. As long as evil exists in the world, there will be temptations for corruption and power. If we each do our part in fighting injustices, we can make a difference perhaps not for the world, but for each individual whose life we touch. In the end, each of us will be accountable to God for our actions (or lack thereof).
Mini Message: With God on our side, we can fight the injustices of the world. We can spread His good news, one peson at a time.

Tenemos que luchar contra las injusticias.
La primera lectura de hoy habla de comerciantes ricos que se aprovechan de los pobres. ¿Te suena familiar? Todavía hoy, miles de años después, los pobres a menudo son depredados por otros.
El mundo es un lugar imperfecto. En nuestro papel de cristianos, nos esforzamos por no ser los que nos aprovechamos de los demás. Pero eso no es suficiente. También debemos ser defensores de aquellos que no pueden salir de sus situaciones por sí mismos. Dios está del lado de los pobres y de los débiles. Ese debería ser nuestro lado también.
Este es un trabajo continuo, que no termina nunca. Por cada injusticia que solucionemos, tres más estarán en fila para tomar su lugar. Mientras exista el mal en el mundo, habrá tentaciones de corrupción y poder. Si cada uno de nosotros hacemos nuestra parte en la lucha contra las injusticias, podremos hacer una diferencia. Quizás no para el mundo sino para cada individuo cuya vida tocamos. Al final, cada uno de nosotros será responsable ante Dios por nuestras acciones (o por la falta de ellas).
