Who will be saved?
It is very clear that God wants everyone to be saved. Isaiah, in today’s first reading, reiterates God’s message, “I come to gather nations of every language...brothers and sisters from all the nations…” This is why Jesus was incarnated. God gives us life in abundance and offers salvation to all people.
In return for eternal salvation, we offer God our fidelity and service. This is the covenant we have with God: He is our God, and we are His people. We each have a part in the success of this alliance. Using our gifts for the good of others, praying, and living as a disciple of Jesus are all ways for us to be active participants as servants of God.
Do we have to accept the conditions God has put on salvation? No. God gave us free will so that we can make choices about the things we do. The thing we have to keep in mind is that there are always consequences to any choice we make. Making choices that turn us away from God will negatively impact our journey towards salvation. Paying lip services is not enough. We have to walk the walk.
So who will be saved? All who accept God’s offer of salvation AND work daily to live up to our end of the bargain.

God offers salvation to all people. Those who will be saved are the ones who choose to accept God’s offer and strive to actively live out the requirements of His covenant.
¿Quiénes serán salvados?
Es muy claro que Dios quiere que todos nos salvemos. Isaías, en la primera lectura de hoy, reitera el mensaje de Dios: “Vengo a reunir naciones de todos los idiomas… hermanos y hermanas de todas las naciones…” Es por eso que Jesús se encarnó. Jesús nos da vida en abundancia y le ofrece la salvación a todas las personas.
A cambio de la salvación eterna, le ofrecemos a Dios nuestra fidelidad y servicio. Este es el pacto que tenemos con Dios: Él es nuestro Dios, y nosotros somos Su pueblo. Cada uno de nosotros tiene su parte en el éxito de esta alianza. Usando nuestros dones para el bien de los demás, orando y viviendo como discípulos de Jesús son formas en las que podemos ser participantes activos como siervos de Dios.
¿Tenemos que aceptar las condiciones que Dios ha puesto para lograr la salvación? No. Dios nos dió libre albedrío para que podamos decidir lo que hacemos. Lo que tenemos que tener en cuenta es que siempre hay consecuencias sobre cualquier decisión que tomemos. Tomar decisiones que nos alejen de Dios tendrá un impacto negativo en nuestro camino a la salvación. Hablar mucho y no hacer nada no es suficiente. Tenemos que hacer el camino.
Entonces, ¿quiénes serán salvados? Todos los que acepten la oferta de la salvación de Dios y trabajen diariamente para cumplir su parte del pacto.

Dios ofrece la salvación a todas las personas. Aquellos que serán salvados serán los que decidan aceptar la oferta de Dios y esforzarse por cumplir activamente los requisitos de Su alianza.
