Parish Councils


Building and Grounds Commission is a consultative body which advises the Pastor in areas of maintenance, repair and capital improvements to the physical plant and grounds. It also works together with the Finance Council and Business Manager to secure bids for any work that is required.

The Education Commission serves the parish by fostering and facilitating the life-giving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith in adults and children. Through consultation with the Pastor, the religious education coordinators, and the pre-school director, and in concert with the Parish Mission Statement, the Commission offers counsel in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the parish education/formating programs.

The Financial Council is a consultative body which advises the Pastor in areas of financial planning and fiscal management, and ensures regular financial accountability to the whole parish.

The Gospel Justice Commission serves as a communications link for the various ministries below involved in implementing the Church's social justice teaching. It also provides a forum for education and conscientization, and identifies areas of concern and new possibilities for outreach by the parish.

The Liturgy Commission is a panel of parishioners charged with advising the pastor in the area of the Church's public worship. Assisted by the Director of Liturgy and Music, the Commission participates in continuing education, in order to offer informed consultation. The commission provides a forum for communication among the various liturgical ministries and offers overall support and guidance in the area of worship.

The Pastoral Care Commission faciliates communication and dialogue among the numerous ministries and organizations operating within the life of the parish. The Commission cooperates with the leadership of the existing ministries to identify social and ministerial needs, and to ensure orderly transitions in leadership.

The Pastoral Council is a consultative body which makes recommendations to the Pastor, thus supporting the spiritual and pastoral growth of the parish, and enabling full participation of parishioners in the Church's mission in the world.

The Small Faith Communities Commission are groups of 10-12 parisioners who gather regularly in homes to pray and to reflect on the Sunday Scripture readings in order to make connections between those readings and the experiences of everyday life. The friendship and care for each other that grows in these groups brings the Church alive in a smaller setting. New communities are formed each year in January, but you may join an existing group at any time.

The Social Fellowship Commission facilitates communication and dialogue among the numerous ministries and organizations providing opportunities for social interaction within the parish. It cooperates with the leaders of the ministries to identify social and ministerial needs and facilitate orderly transitions in leadership.

The Stewardship Commission plans and conducts the annual fall Parish Stewardship Renewal, including the Archbishop's Annual Appeal, and throughout the year promotes the principle of Christian Stewardship by facilitating prayerful, deliberate, and proportionate commitments of Time, Talent and Treasure by all parishioners.
